The JR Sanyo Sanin Area Pass provides unlimited travel access to JR West lines in Chugoku area and parts of Kansai area for 7 consecutive days.
The train lines included with the JR Sanyo Sanin Area Pass: JR West lines, Sanyo Shinkansen (Nozomi Shinkansen, Mizuho Shinkansen, Hikari Shinkansen, Sakura Shinkansen, Kodama Shinkansen), Limited Express trains including Kansai Airport Express Haruka Train, the JR-WEST Miyajima Ferry.
Pass Usage
The pass allows you to visit the following cities: Kyoto, Kinosaki Onsen, Osaka, Nara, Wakayama, Kobe, Himeji, Okayama, Kurashiki, Takamatsu, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Tottori, Matsue and Hakata (Fukuoka).
A child price (6 to 11 years of age) is available for the Sanyo Sanin Area Pass. Access to rail trains is free for accompanied infants aged 5 years or under.

Fukuoka
The southernmost city covered with the pass is Fukuoka, which will surprise visitors through its unique culture; its harbor area, located opposite Korea, was the center of the first exchanges between Japan and the rest of the Asian continent.
Fukuoka has its share of beautiful shrines and temples for those looking for historic sites. One of the most famous districts of Fukuoka, Hakata, is world-renowned by foodies for its street food and legendary Hakata Tonkotsu Ramen, a local noodle delicacy with a broth made of simmered pork bones.

Hiroshima
Hiroshima, a relatively short Shinkansen ride from Osaka and Kyoto in Kansai, has earned a poignant place in the world's history where the first atomic bomb was dropped in 1945. But this modern city offers more than just memories. With its Peace Memorial Park, it's a city of hope. It offers visitors numerous tourist attractions, including a reconstructed Hiroshima castle and Shukkei-en gardens.
Additionally, Hiroshima is often cited for its culinary culture, providing unique interpretations of Japanese street foods, such as Okonomiyaki, which often has yakisoba at the bottom to differentiate it from the more classic Osaka rendition. Oysters are also a famous delicacy of Hiroshima, often eaten raw or in other dishes. Visit this symbolic city of culture and history!

The pass also includes places such as Izumi Shrine in Shimane, Tottori and its famous sand dunes, Tsuruga in Fukui, known for its great beaches, as well as Takamatsu on the island of Shikoku and Uno stations, both access points to Naoshima art island. This area is easily accessible via train rail from Hiroshima.

Make sure you do not miss Korakuen gardens in Okayama, one of Japan's top three gardens. The pass also allows you to use transport between Osaka, Nara and Kyoto, and the Ferry to Miyajima in Hiroshima, where you can admire the famous Torii of Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The JR Sanyo Sanin Area Pass grants access to a very diverse set of destinations accessible via a number of train rail systems including the Sanyo Shinkansen that is serviced via rail trains like the Nozomi Shinkansen, Mizuho Shinkansen, Hikari Shinkansen, Sakura Shinkansen, and Kodama Shinkansen.

Conditions of the Sanyo San'in Area Pass
Eligibility
- A rail pass user must be holding a passport issued by a foreign government.
※外国での永住権を持っているお客様を含め、日本国籍のお客様は使用できません。
- A rail pass user must be entering in Japan as a "短期滞在 (Temporary Visitor) ".
* "短期滞在 (Temporary Visitor) " is a status of residence defined under Japanese immigration law.
- Individual customers are not allowed to purchase or exchange more than one of the same tickets for the same use period.
- You must present your passport to receive a pass.
Exchange
- We will send the e-voucher to your email address within 5 business days after your order. If you want to get earlier, please contact us. (E-voucher is not the real ticket, you cannot take trains with the voucher)
- You can print out an e-voucher on A4 size paper, or you can show the voucher on your mobile device when you exchange.
You can redeem your voucher for a physical pass in these places.

Validity
What lines are included with the pass?
- The Limited Express trains HARUKA (to Kansai Airport), KUROSHIO, THUNDERBIRD, KONOTORI, YAKUMO, HAKUTO (incl. the line between Kamigori and Chizu).
- Sanyo Shinkansen (trains Nozomi, Mizuho, Hikari, Sakura, Kodama) between Shin-Osaka and Hakata (Fukuoka).
- Chizukyu Express Line.
- Rapid and local trains of JR West lines.
- The Chugoku JR Bus from Yamaguchi to Hagi and West JR Bus between Sanobe and Fukuchiyama and Kyoto Station and Takao.
- The JR-WEST Miyajima Ferry.
- Kyoto Tango Railway, for access to Amanohashidate.
What is not included in the pass?
- The Pass is not valid on the Tokaido or Kyushu Shinkansen between Shin-Osaka and Kyoto.
- Please note that this pass cannot be used on expressway buses.
Seat Reservations
- With the pass, no additional fee is required for reserved seats.
- Non-reserved Ordinary class cars can be accessed freely.
- For reserved first-class seats (Green cars), you will have to pay additional fees.
- To access the platforms, show your pass to the JR staff located at the platform gates.
- For a reserved seat, ask the JR staff at the ticket office.
- It is a personal pass. Please always carry your passport when using the pass as station and train staff may check it.
Cancellation conditions and fees
- An unused voucher is refundable for one year from the date of issue.
- The voucher can be refunded if it has never been exchanged in Japan.
- A cancellation fee of 15% of the value of the voucher will be retained.
- No refund is possible for a voucher received by us more than one year from the date of issue.
- A refund is not possible for a lost or stolen voucher.
