The Tohoku Emotion train is a luxury train that runs from Hachinohe, in Aomori Prefecture, to Kuji, in Iwate Prefecture. Good design, food, art, scenery-- there’s lots of cool stuff all in one train!
 
The schedule for this train changes monthly, so please check with the local tourism office (or your JR Pass Assistant) before making plans.

There’s wonderful dining to be had on the Tohoku Emotion:
From Hachinohe to Kuji, there is a prix-fixe lunch set (¥7200 for adults and ¥6600 for children).In the opposite direction there is the dessert buffet (¥4100 for adults, ¥3500 for children).A round trip meal ticket is ¥10,800/¥9600.
The narrow streets in the heart of Hachinohe City is lined with places to eat and drink. From the evenings it is packed with people, who come out to enjoy the famous fresh seafood that comes right from the coast of Hachinohe.
In the summer, if you continue on to Aomori City, there is a giant annual festival called the Nebuta Festival from August 2nd to August 7th.

There are parades, dances, and performances, as well as lit-up floats. Tourists can also participate if they choose!
